Combilift will once again be flying the flag for the materials handling sector at W14 with a selection of its customised forklifts – a firm favourite in the timber, panels and furniture industries – on stand 6G815.

Since the company launched its first C4000 four-way model in 1998, more than 22,000 units have now been sold worldwide and the company leads the way in providing safe and space saving solutions for long and bulky products as well as palletised loads.

New at W14 is the Combilift 4WSL, a two directional sideloader available with 5t and 6t load capacities which was developed for reliable, robust and fast operation when moving timber across extensive sites and offers considerable benefits over other machines on the market.

Overheating during prolonged operation is a common problem with many sideloaders, but Combilift has counteracted any risk of this by incorporating a single Bosch Rexroth variable piston hydrostatic drive motor coupled with a rugged and proven JCB differential axle as used on the JCB 3CX backhoe model.

This enables long distance travel at high speeds with no concern of overheating. Very low maintenance wet brakes are fitted as standard on the drive and front steering axles.

As always, driver comfort and safety was a priority in the design stages and the cab features a deep suspension seat with joystick control, and a tilting steering column for easy entry and exit.

Pneumatic tyres make for a smooth ride across uneven surfaces such as cobbles, and the fully glazed front panel in the cab considerably enhances visibility for the operator.

As the engine is situated in a low level compartment underneath the platform, excellent visibility when reversing is also ensured.

Other exhibits will include the compact four-way Combi-CB counterbalance design truck – available with capacities from 2.5 to 4t with various power options – plus a model from the original C series.
