Movac Group Ltd, one of the UK’s largest independent distributors of paint and consumables to the automotive and industrial markets, has opened a fully-equipped training centre.

Centrally located just off the A1 at Peterborough, Movac’s training centre ensures that its customers get the best out of the high technology coatings and equipment the company can supply.

It also enables operatives to be trained away from the pressures of the production line and normal work day distractions. With both standard and bespoke training courses available, Movac customers can relax in the knowledge that all training goals can be fulfilled.

The training centre has already welcomed its first stream of customers wanting to take advantage of the knowledge and advice from Movac’s technical experts. Harrison Varma Joinery wanted a specific training course for spray application of water based coatings.

Lukasz Jelen, of Harrison Varma, praised the training programme and said: “We have found the spraying course very useful. It gave us a better understanding about the products available on the market and the difference between them.

“We have learned about stain application and how to keep consistent colour throughout. We found that you were very helpful and answered all our questions. Thank you very much.”

The centre has been purpose-built with four dedicated areas comprising of the following: Spray Booth, which is fully-enclosed and thermostatically-controlled and features turntables, drying racks and a full range of coating equipment; Preparation Room; providing a dust-free environment in which hand and mechanical sanding can take place; Cleaning Area, where delegates are shown how spray guns can be cleaned either manually or automatically after use in the least time possible; and the Meeting Room, an ideal location for the theoretical side and includes a plasma display screen and a debriefing area.

Movac works in partnership with businesses to create a programme that gives staff the best advice and training to successfully achieve the most cost-effective way of completing projects.
