Focusing on dust-free innovation and efficiency at W16, Mirka UK will be showing a wide range of abrasives, tools and kits, which have been designed to provide a consistent high quality finish, reduce time spent on jobs and allow businesses to control costs.

The exhibition will mark the UK début of Mirka’s new professional sanders, the Mirka PROS 550DB and 650DB, which will headline the air tools display, supported by an exclusive show promotion available through Isaac Lord.

The tools have been engineered to provide maximum dust extraction at low suction power and have a low noise level even when operating at their maximum 12,000rpm. The sanders feature a revolutionary brake seal, which eliminates the possibility of causing deep marks in the surface when the fast rotating abrasive first touches the material.

The Mirka PROS 550DB is available with 125mm pads and the Mirka PROS 650DB comes with 150mm pads. Both are equipped with dust extraction and pneumatic hoses, fastening strips and Mirka’s new fleece dust bag.

Another first at W16, is Mirka’s compact 34mm battery sander, which offers fabricators a small detail sanding concept designed specifically for the hard to reach places on a variety of solid surfaces including Corian, Krion, Samsung and Staron.
In addition, Mirka’s high gloss solutions kit offers users a quick, simple and cost-effective system that enables them to high gloss a range of lacquered surfaces and solid surface materials. The kit offers two processes – a single compound polishing method involving more sanding, and a two-compound polishing process involving more polishing.

Both procedures can achieve a 95 to 98 gloss following the simple pictorial chart included in the kit. The solution contains Mirka’s patented Microstar film discs, polishing compounds, microfibre cloths, Abralon finishing discs, mops and pads through to the correct backing pad for the polisher.

The Abranet Max range will also be on display and visitors to the event will have the opportunity to view it in action in a working environment through live demonstrations on Mirka’s stand.

The abrasive’s innovative symmetric net structure allows effective stock removal while minimising the risk of overheating the sanded surface area or burning the belt.

Its design creates a finer, more consistent scratch pattern resulting in a better surface finish, and is fully resin bonded making it more effective to use, increasing product durability.

Abranet Max also has no directional arrows on the reverse side, which means it can be run in both directions making it much more economical and user friendly.

Also on the stand will be Mirka’s Abranet Ace range. This premium net product features ceramic grains that deliver a faster, more aggressive sanding operation. The improved robust grain impregnation prolongs its life and ensures fewer sanding defects and less grain breakage.

The tougher velour backing provides better disc grip adhesion and enhanced edge wear, making Abranet Ace more effective and longer lasting. It also has a highly visible reverse side print pattern making it much more user-friendly.

A selection of wide belts, which provide the user with hardwearing abrasives suitable for use in a broad range of applications, complete the Mirka line-up, making it one of the most comprehensive offerings at the show.

Pete Sartain, national sales manager of Mirka UK, says: “W16 is a key show as it provides us with the perfect platform to showcase a wide range of tool and abrasive solutions to key decision makers so they are aware of how our products can help their businesses become more efficient and profitable, while providing a dust-free working environment.

“This year, alongside the product display, our expert team will be running several live demos of the Abranet Max range to showcase the product across a number of applications and address individual issues.”
