In conjunction with Belgian tenoner and window line manufacturer Vertongen and Leitz Tooling UK, Daltons Wadkin is hosting open days at its Nottingham showrooms on 2nd and 3rd October. Experts from Leitz Tooling and Vertongen, together with a representative from the timber suppliers Accoya, will be on hand and windows will be produced on a Vertongen Compact 3 Tenoner and Casadei F23 spindle moulder.

The systems developed by Leitz Tooling enable machines to produce an 'A' rated window with a rating of 1.3 or better and is in response to proposed part 'L' Building Regulations in the energy and carbon production improvement targets of October 2010. The Leitz system is designed to suit not only large companies but also small to medium sized joinery businesses, opening up new markets and opportunities whilst reducing waste and sanding.

The Leitz method suits the manufacture of storm proof/ flush casement windows, both double and triple glazed, and the designs incorporate a range of 'U' values from 1.4 down to 0.7.

Demonstrations will include processes control, weather testing, window simulation and information required for CE marking.

Daltons Wadkin engineers will also be on hand to demonstrate the innovative features of the Vertongen Tenoner which will be used in the processes together with the Casadei Spindle Moulder.

Sales personnel will also be available and it is envisaged that visitors will go away with a good understanding of not only the Leitz Window System but also the methods of production and some of the machines which are available.

All visitors are welcome but the company requests that appointments are booked in advance by calling 0115 986 5201 or emailing sales@daltonsmachines.com
