The UK’s most successful manufacturer of office furniture – and recent winner of a sustainability award – will be opening its doors to the furniture industry for a one-off event this November to highlight and promote sustainable working.

Accrington-based Senator, is one of the oldest and most active members of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP). On the 13th November, the comapny will share its experiences and provide insight into how it has achieved success in both reducing its effect on the environment and working more efficiently to minimise costs.

This exclusive event, run by FISP, is free of charge but is for a strictly limited number of guests. The event will take place at Senator’s head office in Accrington, Lancashire, between 10am and 12:30pm – with lunch provided.

The day will include presentations from Senator and FISP representatives, sharing experiences and concluding with a guided tour of the factory.

FISP, which is audited by FIRA International, can help your business realise the full potential of working sustainably and since its launch in 2006 has rapidly become established as the industry forum on all environmental and sustainability issues.

James Bell, environmental consultant for FISP and event organiser, said: “FISP membership is a way of clearly demonstrating sustainability credentials when tendering for contracts, helping you to stand out above your competitors. It can improve your competitiveness through production efficiencies and cost savings. FISP is also a powerful and highly valuable marketing tool.

“I hope that Senator’s successes will inspire others to find out how working sustainably can benefit them.”
