Private equity company Nimbus, based in Zeist in the Netherlands has invested in the plant manufacturer Robert Bürkle GmbH. Nimbus has acquired a stake with a significant capital increase and wants to actively foster the further development of the corporate group.

Bürkle develops and builds sophisticated coating and laminating lines for the woodworking industry, the printed circuit boards’, plastic cards’ and solar module industries. In addition to that, the company supplies plants and machinery to the automotive and building industries.

Nimbus is a specialist in equity investments in SME companies and invests in companies having their own product and which are at a turning point in their development. Currently, the investor holds 25 majority stakes in medium-sized companies throughout Europe, yet Nimbus is regarded as a faithful partner. The main focus of the Bürkle management and Nimbus is to strengthen the current position of the plant and mechanical engineering company as an innovative and reliable performance leader in the core technologies of pressing and coat-ing/laminating.

Bürkle is predominantly active in exports with more than 80% of the estimated €90m annual turnover going overseas. By the end of the second quarter of 2014, the mechanical engineering company wants to employ a staff of around 600 worldwide.
