After recording phenomenal sales since the W14 show, Homag UK will once again be showcasing its latest developments in machinery and software at W16 from 2nd-5th October 2016. Visitors can expect a range of Homag machinery demonstrations for automated production in Hall 7 on stands F710 and F610 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Simon Brooks, sales and marketing director for Homag UK comments: “Set to be bigger and better than ever before, visitors to Homag City will be amazed by the range of machinery demonstrations. From entry-level to industrial-sized machines as well as all the latest automation solutions, it really is not to be missed.

“Homag UK will also be bringing a very special guest to Homag City this October. Visitors will be greeted by Titan the robot who stole the show at Ligna 2015.

Performing to the crowds during the four day event, Titan will be providing a guided tour of Homag City. He will also be outlining all the latest Homag software packages and lending a hand in the Homag service area as well as helping to raise money for Rainbows Hospice. As an added bonus, visitors to our stand will have the chance to win an Apple iWatch, so everything’s set for a truly exciting show!”

W16 premieres – the latest technology from Homag
For the first time in the UK, the already immensely successful Bütfering SWT 225 will soon be available with all new features. More adaptable than ever before, it now features a greater range of automatic thickness adjustment and constant working height. With a choice of four heads which can be specified in single and twin head configurations to give seven different machine types, the SWT 225 RH is a versatile sanding solution for all manufacturers.

Also set to make its UK debut at W16 is the new Weeke Venture 115M, a compact and extremely versatile, entry level 5-axis CNC processing centre. It’s small footprint, unique console, table design, mobile control unit and new ‘convenience package’ give it a real edge in terms of affordable productivity and performance. The Venture 115M’s installation area has been reduced by 15 per cent and the operator now has free access from all sides, allowing 360 degree loading of the work table.

The Weeke Venture 115M is set to bring high quality manufacturing to even the smallest of workshops.

Growing with the Homag Group
Homag’s motto of ‘Growing with the Homag Group’ will be reflected at W16 by the comprehensive range of machinery available. Weeke will be presenting its popular range of compact CNC drilling centres including the BHX 050 and BHX 200. With over 3150 satisfied customers to date, the Weeke BHX 050 is a powerful vertical machining centre for five sided machining of panels. Its powerful sister, the BHX 200 has both vertical and horizontal drilling capability. With a panel clamping system and optional return system, these CNCs are more efficient than ever before.

The popular Weeke ABD 260 offers horizontal drilling and dowel insertion for fast, flexible and accurate machining. It is the perfect accompaniment to nesting machines.

Bütfering is set to demonstrate its entry level SWT 124 RC sander. This complete twin head machine brings high quality sanding to the smaller workshops.

Meanwhile, Brandt will have a large presence at this year’s show. The Brandt KTD 720 Optimat is a powerful solution for edging curved and shaped parts up to 3m/m in thickness.

The entry level Brandt 1120 FC edgebander is packed with features previously only seen on top models. With pre-milling and hot melt adhesive tape application up to 3m/m and corner rounding, scraping and finishing, the 1120 FC is a production powerhouse.

Following on from the 1120 FC, the highly flexible and intuitive Brandt Ambition 1230 airTec offers a complete processing solution with either airTec or hot melt glue for ultimate joint technology. At an entry level price it is a powerful tool for smaller manufacturers wanting to produce panels with ‘invisible joint’ technology whether for batch size 1, bespoke products or volume panel production.

The Brandt 1440 FC Edition is also set to make its premiere at W16. The powerful, yet compact edgebander allows instant change over between different edge band sizes on panels up to 60m/m thick.

On the panel sizing side, the Holzma profiLine HPP 300/43/43 is a front loading beamsaw with 4.3 metre cutting capacity. Using a powerTouch controller with Holzma’s simple to use CADMATIC 4.0 operating system, it offers quick and accurate sizing of panels. Holzma will be presenting a whole host of new features and software that dramatically improve the efficiency and performance for their market leading beam saws.

Homag Automation production solutions
Visitors to Homag City can expect to see an array of Homag’s latest technology set to automate production processes. From storage systems to 4.0 networked production facilities, the Homag sales team offers a vast amount of knowledge to help solve production challenges.

The versatile MPH 410 carcass clamp is one of many options from Homag for squaring and clamping carcasses. Electronically positioned for fast set-ups the MPH 410 is designed for square tight-jointed carcasses.

Visitors to W16 will see the intelligent VKS 250 bespoke box making cell in action. Using its 3D scanner, the VKS 250 accurately measures the dimensions of the item.

The scanner automatically sends the dimensions to the VKS 250 which cuts the box to the required size from two-fold cardboard. It then feeds it to the operator before being sealed with its gluing machine. With just-in-time production, manufacturing and stock-keeping costs are drastically reduced.

Industrial solutions for larger manufacturers
Homag will be exhibiting the BMG 311 five-axis router. The BMG 311 is a heavy duty five-axis processing centre which is suitable for all kinds of joinery work as well as intricate five-axis machining. Driven by Homag CAM plugin software, it eliminates the need for expensive third party software.

The Brandt 1650 FC is perfect for high throughput edgebanding. With PUR glue technology, the manufacturer can quickly change between colours.

Furniture manufacturers will discover the impressive features of the Homag Ambition 2474 airTec edgebander with its energy-saving and environmentally friendly benefits. Designed especially for the demands of industrial level manufacturing, this high speed powerhouse reaches feed speeds of up to 25 m/m. Available with either airTec’s ‘zero-joint’ technology for invisible joints or PUR adhesive for ultimate edge quality, the 2474 offers enormous production flexibility.

The Weeke Vantage 100/710 through feed nesting cell is ideal for efficient, high performance nesting line. Facilitating flexible board conversion and sizing, routing, drilling and grooving in one process the Weeke is fast, flexible and accurate. With an outfeed conveyor belt for completed parts and label printing for identification, it’s ideal for production facilities.

If all this is not enough, Homag UK will have Joos sales representatives on the stand with the Joos BEU 90 10 x 5 single daylight press. The heavy duty water heated press is ideal for high quality veneering and laminating.

Software and service solutions from Homag
Visitors will also catch demonstrations of all the latest software at W16 including Magicut optimisation software, Magicut nesting software, woodWOP, powerTouch and eSolutions design and manufacture software.

Visitors to the stand will also have the opportunity to meet the Homag service team to discuss how they can keep your machinery in production with service packages, preventative maintenance schemes and training programmes.
