The recent two-day event saw over 50 new and existing customers pass through the doors to witness demonstrations on three machines and also learn about a variety of tools and expertise on offer from the Luton-based specialist.

In addition to demonstrations and talks held by Whitehill Tools, the company also invited along its preferred partners to create a complete overview of the window manufacturing process. Fellow exhibitors included Accoya, Joinerysoft, Coastal Group, RJ Woodworking/Vertongen, Scott & Sargeant/Otto Martin and BWF.

The event brought to light the efficiencies that can be created by using automated processes. Whitehill and its partners were able to demonstrate how windows could be made to order with virtually no set-up times, no marking out and perfect repeatability.

With no minimum batch size, this creates the simplest and most cost-effective production change, reducing waste and significantly improving customers’ productivity. Joiners who attended were amazed by how their current time-consuming production methods could be reduced so significantly.

Mike Lewis of Accoya comments: “It’s good to see so many joinery companies involved in this event and bring together all the different stakeholders who are associated with making wooden windows and doors.”

David Hudson, managing director of Whitehill, adds: “We were pleasantly surprised at the number of visitors who took the time to attend our open day and expressed a real interest in what was on offer. We received a number of enquiries on the very same day, which – to us – is testament to how well the format works.”

David continues: “Whitehill Tools is the only manufacturer in Britain of this kind of tooling and we’ve made major investments in our facilities here. We’ve found people like to deal with a UK manufacturer, someone they can talk to if they have any problems or any questions.

“We focus our business on first-class quality and service and our USP is to undertake both small and large projects with incomparable excellence, whilst still maintaining a personable and professional service.”
