Spa Laminates' versatile Aeropanel is celebrating seven years since its introduction to the market.

Spa launched Aeropanel in 2006 to offer customers a chunky panel material with the look of MDF, but none of the associated weight and handling problems, thanks to a unique layered MDF and high density foam construction.

This proved to be a winning combination and Spa has produced an average of more than 10,000m² of Aeropanel a year for the past seven years, recently adding animal skin effects and stone veneers to the range of finishes available.

The product has been installed in prestigious locations from premiership football clubs and five star hotels to the London 2012 Olympic Park and a fleet of super yachts. Orders have increased year on year and the product is now a key element of Spa’s product range.

MD Daryn Forster says: “We knew when we launched Aeropanel that it offered real benefits for customers, but we’ve been really pleased by how quickly it has been adopted as a material of choice by designers and specifiers in a really wide range of industries.

“Aeropanel is the ideal material to use when creating anything that needs panels with a thick cross-section. It has all properties of conventional MDF and the same visual effect, but with the lightness only achievable with foam. When it comes to installing panelling or creating a piece of furniture, Aeropanel’s manoeuvrability drastically reduces the hours required, delivering real time and cost benefits to customers.”
