Spa Laminates' versatile Aeropanel is celebrating seven years since its introduction to the market.
Spa launched Aeropanel in 2006 to offer customers a chunky panel material with the look of MDF, but none of the associated weight and handling problems, thanks to a unique layered MDF and high density foam construction.
This proved to be a winning combination and Spa has produced an average of more than 10,000m² of Aeropanel a year for the past seven years, recently adding animal skin effects and stone veneers to the range of finishes available.
The product has been installed in prestigious locations from premiership football clubs and five star hotels to the London 2012 Olympic Park and a fleet of super yachts. Orders have increased year on year and the product is now a key element of Spa’s product range.
MD Daryn Forster says: “We knew when we launched Aeropanel that it offered real benefits for customers, but we’ve been really pleased by how quickly it has been adopted as a material of choice by designers and specifiers in a really wide range of industries.
“Aeropanel is the ideal material to use when creating anything that needs panels with a thick cross-section. It has all properties of conventional MDF and the same visual effect, but with the lightness only achievable with foam. When it comes to installing panelling or creating a piece of furniture, Aeropanel’s manoeuvrability drastically reduces the hours required, delivering real time and cost benefits to customers.”
• Aeropanel is 100% recyclable.
•The foam core offers superior thermal properties with low moisture absorption which is particularly useful when used as internal wall panelling on exterior facing walls.
•Each panel can be supplied in a wide range of veneers or laminates. Cut edges can be finished with either solid edges, a co-ordinating veneer or plain MDF edges to allow for further machining.
•Sheets of Aeropanel can be easily cut to size, drilled, machined or shaped without the need for specialist equipment
•Aeropanel is available in 10 x 4ft or 8 x 4ft sheet sizes or cut size panels, with a depth ranging from 30mm to 165mm.
•Spa has more than three decades of experience producing veneered panels and products for designers, architects, specifiers, builders and shop fitters. The experienced team helps clients source a choice of veneers to meet their exact specifications and guide them through the many additional tinting and colouring options available.
