Leitz Tooling is holding the next in its successful series of one-day seminars at Kendal College in Cumbria on the 28th October. The seminar will include a presentation from the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) on the benefits of timber window licenses and energy ratings for the ThermoTech Window System.

Licences for 36 different variations of energy-rated timber window manufacture can be purchased from the BFRC through Leitz, by any company using the ThermoTech Window System stack tooling.

With companies looking to diversify, keep up-to-date with regulations and seek a competitive advantage – along with the prime location of Kendal College for the north west – places for the seminar are expected to go quickly. The seminars are accredited by the BWF’s woodworking CPD programme.

The one-day seminar will also include technical speakers from Felder, one of the leading producers of woodworking machinery who also support the college; British Woodworking Federation (BWF); Accsys Technologies on Accoya Wood; Teknos Coatings; sealing profile specialists for windows and doors, Deventer Weather Seals; Coastal Joinery Hardware, and software supplier to the bespoke joinery market, Joinerysoft. Practical demonstrations of timber windows being made in a matter of minutes, will be held in the afternoon.

Richard Jacob, British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) registered simulator with Leitz, says: “The system support variations to suit most manufacturers’ individual specifications, and offers flexibility. As a low cost, dedicated modular system, it is not only as accessible and as future-proof as we can make it, but includes the support customers might need, be it custom window design or the simulation to BRFC regulations to get the approved all-important A or A+ rating with licences from the BFRC.”

Responses from companies which attended previous seminars and customers and are using Leitz ThermoTech Window System:

“The fact that Leitz has already done the work with the BFRC for energy-rated window licences was a key factor in our decision to buy their tooling, and we’re winning most of the work we quote for.”
TimberMaster, Leicestershire

“We made 70 sashes in two mornings then straight to the paint shop. This would have normally taken a whole week.”
Towers & Keightley Ltd, Leicestershire

“The tooling was delivered at 11am; we started production by 1pm – it was that easy”.
Sutcliffe Joinery, Leeds

Leitz sales manager, Brian Maddox, says: “We have removed the burden of design, tooling, set up and window simulation thermal testing for the energy performance rating.

“Our high quality product is actually one of the most economical solutions available and these seminars give companies the chance to see it in action for themselves. We’re talking efficient production, creating a highly marketable finished product.”

Customers are even turning to the Leitz ThermoTech Window System after buying alternative products, with one customer saying: “I’ve tried the cheap systems, but now I have the Leitz system and the difference in production performance and finished product is incredible. We’re not just making windows, we are making money!”

The Cumbria seminar will take place at Kendal College, Milnthorpe Road, Cumbria, LA9 5AY on 28th October 2015. Seminar places are charged at £10 per person, which will be donated to local charities.  Email salesuk@leitz.org to book a place.
