Handsie Display offers unique event stand designs, barrier systems, mobile bars and more, to suit any occasion from a party to a sports event. They supply equipment annually to the Chelsea Flower Show, the British Open Golf Championships; and catered for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, providing bespoke catering outlets.

They are currently working on a project for the Shard – the skyscraper in London – and will be making a champagne bar as a permanent display. “It will feature a high gloss black finish and is simple, but unique and quite cosmic,” says Handsie Display assistant manager, Steve Jewett.

All of this work has been made possible with the purchase of the CNC Format 4 Profit H08 from Felder UK, which, as Steve says, has opened up new opportunities and services overall.

In order to manage the company’s workload, Handsie Display had previously outsourced its CNC work to a company in north London – and it also used to perform parts of the manufacturing process by hand. The main difference is the time the company saves and the comparison of manual processes against machine technology. Steve states how the Profit H08 has sped up the manufacturing process on the whole: “Things that used to take a couple of weeks, now only take one day.”

Delighted with the machine’s capabilities, Steve Jewett says that time saving is a major benefit and now that Handsie Display has the CNC Profit H08, it takes care of everything. This upgrade in the workshop allows them to take on more business and continue to be a recognisable name at the UK’s leading outdoor events, while developing an impeccable reputation.

Steve also mentioned that the training – provided by Felder UK’s CNC product manager Richard Hird – made the transition from paper into practice a smooth and informative one, allowing them to get working from the word go.

Handsie Display sees itself as fortunate to have been around for a while, as this enables them to show clients what they have done before, and giving it the chance to demonstrate what it is capable of.

Steve concludes: “We are starting to establish our own little portfolio and are able to meet the demands of the business and the increasing orders.”

Handsie Display envisages further expansion in the future with the CNC Format 4 Profit H08 being the latest addition to its range of machines. This includes the G400 Edgebander and a Corner-Rounding machine – both also from the Felder Group – which enables them to continue to be successful.
