2025 – A year of wins for Humanscale

Humanscale, a leading designer and manufacturer of sustainable and high-performance ergonomic workplace design is proud to have achieved seven major wins from across the globe’s most respected design and sustainable award bodies in 2025.

These wins affirm Humanscale's standing within the design industry and are a testament to its commitment to outstanding product design and ergonomic innovation.

Some of the outstanding Humanscale wins in 2025 include:

Red Dot Design Award:

Globally recognised as one of the largest design competitions, the Red Dot Award stands as a benchmark of excellence in product design, design concepts, and brand and communication design.

Among thousands of entries submitted across 51 categories, Humanscale’s Float Mini and M/3 Connect Pro Dock stood out, earning the prestigious Red Dot Award. The award recognises Humanscale’s commitment to user-centric design and dedication to sustainability and wellbeing in the workplace.

The Float Mini not only triumphed in its category but also received the “Red Dot: Best of the Best”, an honour reserved for the most groundbreaking designs. This honour represents the highest recognition in the competition and cements Humanscale’s place at the forefront of design excellence.

iF Design Awards:

The iF Design Award is renowned as a seal of excellence in design and innovation. For more than 70 years, it has been given by iF International Forum Design GmbH, making it one of the world’s oldest and most respected independent design institutions.

From nearly 11,000 submissions across 66 countries, Humanscale’s Float Mini and Trea Collection stood out to an independent panel of expert jurors, who commended the designs for their groundbreaking functionality, aesthetic appeal, and innovation. Awarded in the product: office category, this recognition marks another milestone in Humanscale’s dedication to workplace solutions, positioning them among the very best in a highly competitive global field.

CDW25 Award:

New for 2025, the CDW (Clerkenwell Design Week) award (presented in collaboration with the Sandow Design Group) spotlights products that exemplify the best of contemporary design, focusing on sustainability, accessibility and technology integration.

From a highly competitive field of leading commercial furniture entries, Humanscale’s Freedom 25 earned the Commercial Furniture award category, selected for the products ergonomic excellence, comfort and focus on user-friendly design.

Sustainable Design Award:

Formed by the Sustainable Design Collective, the Sustainable Design Awards aim to recognise outstanding achievements within the workplace sector. Competing against other renowned manufacturers, Humanscale set itself apart through its environmental philosophy, which is deeply embedded in everything the company creates and does.

As stated by the judges, “Humanscale’s “Freedom Chair” has set the standard for ergonomic excellence since its introduction in 1999. Its visionary design broke free from the limitations of traditional seating, offering unparalleled support effortlessly adapting to the individual. This revolutionary approach prioritised the human experience, challenging conventions by removing complex adjustments, offering a self-adjusting recline mechanism that provides perfect support in every position.”

Republik Worknight Award (France):

Republik Worknight Awards winners not only reflect the major trends that are transforming the workplace, but are also embedding the current environmental and innovative solutions needed in the workplace, which is why the Humanscale Path chair was awarded the Gold Award in the Sustainable & Responsible Workplace / Circular Workplace category.

As a pioneering chair in ergonomics and sustainability, Path represents a new generation of chairs, upcycling more plastic waste than any other chair in the industry. Labelled as the ‘world's most sustainable chair’, Todd Bracher designed the product to allow individuals to stay healthy (and comfortable) while keeping the planet healthy.

A common consensus across all award bodies was Humanscale’s focus and commitment to ergonomics, material innovation, sustainability, and long-term durability, all qualities that has positioned Humanscale as a consistent leader in workplace solution design.

As Humanscale continues to advance its sustainability commitments and innovative designs, the successful year in award wins underscores not only Humanscale’s industry leadership but also its growing influence on shaping the future of workplace design.
