In line with strategic plans to broaden the range of equipment available through its agent network, Weinig UK selected Hofmann as partner first and foremost because the quality of the products matched those of the Weinig brand.

While Hofmann may not be a brand familiar to everyone in the UK, the company has been in existence since 1919 and in continental Europe, Hofmann is one of those aspirational brands that users of classical machines appreciate as one of the best.

“When it became known that Weinig UK was looking to expand its product portfolio with a range of classical machines, we had household name suppliers knocking on our door wanting to work with us,” says MD Malcolm Cuthbertson. “After detailed discussions and evaluation, we chose to partner Hofmann because of the many shared values between our brands – engineering quality, innovation, privately owned, focused on the long term future and committed to full life cycle support for equipment supplied.”

The range equipment available through Weinig UK includes a wide range of planers, thicknessers and combination machines as well as a comprehensive suite of spindle moulders. The AHW series of surface planers would leave no wish unfulfilled even in the hands of the most experienced user. High quality cast iron construction, 3m long jointing tables, manual or electrical cutting depth adjustment and a host of ergonomic features make the machine an absolute joy to work with and produce perfect results time and time again.

The D636 thicknesser rates as one of the most intelligently designed machines in its class. It is the detail that sets this machine apart from anything else available and, once an operator appreciates the precision of the design that handles timber from 615 mm wide by maximum 305 mm to minimum 3.5mm thick with ease, he will wonder how he managed without the Hofmann.

The AD series of combined planer and thicknesser is unique as it allows both modes of operation without folding up the tables. This machine series is packed with useful features that all contribute to saving time without compromising quality and within a very compact footprint.

The range of spindle moulders from Hofmann covers all levels of sophistication from the entry level TFS 107 range with tilting spindle and electric height adjustment as standard which marks a breakthrough in price/performance levels. Mid range machines are represented by the TF/TFS 1245 series with a comprehensive range of options and cleverly designed operating features to make life easy for the operator. Different levels of control systems on top of the cast iron build ensure quality of workpieces produced are the highest imaginable.

Top of the range is represented by the UFM210 Vision which takes spindle moulding to a new level. An intelligent control system allows the spindle to be motorised from -45.5° to +95.5°giving the possibility to produce previously unimaginable profiles with ease. Couple these features with any number of an extensive range of options and you can have probably the most flexible machining spindle moulder available in its class.
