Team Waring beat off competition from eight other Sunsail F40 yachts and was first to cross the finish line in all three races of the day.

The Inter Brewery Regatta gives brewers from around the country and related industry companies the chance to get together once a year to participate in ‘round the cans’ racing on the Solent - one of the world’s best sailing grounds. Warings Furniture is a leading supplier of interior and exterior furniture to UK restaurants, bars and hotels, including brewery and pub groups.

Graham Waring, director of Warings Furniture and first mate of Team Waring, said: “It’s our second year entering the race and we’re extremely delighted with our performance.

“The team worked like a well oiled machine with winds gusting up to 40 mph – evident with our winning streak. It was a pleasure and a challenge to sail up against talented crews from Shepherd Neame, St Austell, Young’s, Beds and Bars, Rexam, Quinn Glass and Glass Resort. We hope to be back to defend our title next year!”

The event, which gives breweries the chance to prove whose team is the best in the industry, took place over two days of racing. Shepherd Neame, based in Kent, was named fastest brewery team of the weekend.
