Kite Packaging, one of the UK’s leading distributors of packaging, and Audion Swissvac, the leading name in automated packaging solutions and machinery, will be partnering for the first time ever at the PPMA Show.

The partnership comes at a time when both businesses have been experiencing a high rate of growth, and for Kite in particular, expanding its range to allow for more automated machinery that offers a complete packaging solution.

The PPMA Show takes place on 30th September – 2nd October at the NEC  in Birmingham, showcasing the best in packaging machinery to over 8000 visitors. Kite Packaging & Audion Swissvac will be collaborating on stand F90 – a 64 sq m space which will display 21 machines to stand visitors. On the stand will be both businesses engineers who have many years’ experience in the field, and will be demonstrating the machinery and advising visitors.

Kite Packaging was established in 2001 and operates both a successful website business and major account’s operation. Most recently it introduced an S3 (specialist services and solutions) department to the business, comprising of a team of highly experienced engineers who have since launched three automated packaging solutions to market – the Kite Mini Air, the Kite Air Shock and the Kite Wrap & Hold.

Swissvac was established in 1978 and has since become a leading name in premium packaging machinery and solutions.

Now part of Audion Elektro the company continues to supply a complete range of packaging equipment to 65 countries across the world and has recently re-branded as Audion Swissvac.

Most well-known for its extensive range of heat sealers and industrial packaging machines, as well as flexible film solutions Audion Swissvac continue to dominate the market for high tech packaging machinery.

Various machines will be on display at the joint stand, each with their own unique packaging credentials, with a focus on bagging, void fill, sealing, and vacuum and shrink wrapping.
Most notably Audion Swissvac will be showcasing its Speedpack system, a manual fill and seal machine designed specifically for tubular products, and Rollbag, a continuous bagging system using the patented pre-opened bags on a roll.

The two systems are among some revolutionary technical advances for the company and are designed to speed up the packing process and showcase to customers designs that have not been seen before. Audion Swissvac will also have a large heat sealing section in which various products will be demonstrated, these heat sealers have a huge range of specs and therefore can be used by small and large users.

Kite Packaging will also be showcasing its patented system – the Wrap & Hold, what Kite says is the first machine of its kind to incorporate stretch film and corrugated boards to create versatile packs that eliminate the need for void fill.

The Kite Wrap & Hold has been seen at a number of shows this year, including MACH 2014 and Southern Manufacturing. The system is most ideal for large users with a high volume throughput as it wraps packs in seconds and provides secure and presentable packaging for transit.

Kite will also be demonstrating the Kite Mini Air and Air Shock – two air systems that are significantly cheaper, more effective and more environmentally friendly than traditional void fill and protective packaging. The Kite Air Shock in particular has been a huge launch for the company, and already several Kite customers have had bespoke armoured air pouches designed for their business needs, from toilet packs to car seat packaging.

The partnership between the two packaging businesses will continue post the PPMA Show, which will be the first time the public will see both company’s branding and partners collaborate together.
Following the show, Kite and Audion Swissvac plan to bring customers a range of possible solutions to help with their packaging operation, using the expertise and resources of both experienced teams.

A spokesman representing Kite Packaging and Audion Swissvac noted that both businesses were incredibly excited about the partnership – “The two companies have different business structures but a completely shared philosophy – to offer a best in class service to customers through innovation and a commitment to their vision. This partnership will strengthen the growth of both businesses, but most importantly offer customers more choice, competitive solutions and expertise from two leaders in the packaging industry.”
