Adding to its extensive portfolio of programmable push-fed cross-cut saws, Stromab has introduced the all new Matrix V model to its range.

Designed with high productivity in mind the Matrix V has a cutting cycle of just 1 to 2 seconds making it around 40% more productive than the standard machine. In addition the new saw has an increased cutting capacity of 150mm thick x 390mm wide.

As standard, the V is equipped with a new TOP 12 user-friendly 12in industrial touch screen control unit incorporating USB/ethernet connections, graphic display of the programmed cutting sequence and the option of three levels of optimisation including Board Sequence which is ideal for repetitive cutting, the OTPI version offers additional cutting criteria including minimum waste and automatic board  length measuring for cutting random length timber. Finally the Defect option incorporates a defect removal camera and timber grading.

The infeed tables are inclinded for easy loading and are of all steel construction making them suitable for heavy timber sections or packs of timber, with infeed table lengths ranging from 3m up to 16m.

The pusher positioning system is via rack and pinion drive giving a high level of long term repeat cutting accuracy. Other features include a 10hp main saw unit motor with a new high speed saw action, which incorporates a number of unique features designed to reduce overall cycle times.

In addition, the machine incorporates pneumatic variable saw stroke speed, automatic raising of the pusher on the return stroke and new ‘ergonomically’ designed guarding  offering the operator the highest level of safety.

Options include label or ink jet printing, pneumatic side clamps and automatic outfeed workpiece sorter. exclusive UK agent, JJ Smith, has been instrumental in assisting Stromab in the design and development of this new machine, calling on the vast experience they have gained in this sector and also using feed back from many existing customers.

The company believes the introduction of this new saw will further strengthen its position as the UK’s leading supplier of cross cutting solutions.

The Matrix V, along with a CT600 programmable saw for both straight/angled cutting, are part of the comprehensive array of crosscuts that can viewed and demonstrated at the company’s Liverpool showroom, with prospective customers being able to test cut their own timber.
