Crofts & Assinder, one of the UK’s premium handle and architectural fittings designers and producers, has won the International Development award at The Midlands Family Business Awards – a ceremony which aims to shine a light on the region’s great family businesses.

The Birmingham-based business, which celebrates its 140th anniversary this year, was recognised for its substantial growth overseas and fought off tough competition to take home its first ever award at a ceremony held at Athena in Leicestershire.

The company, which has a long history in design, manufacture and global distribution of high-quality products, has seen a surge in overseas wins over the last year. Its product offering expands to Australia, France, Benelux, Germany, China, North America and Russia, with export sales now representing 40% of the business.

The Midlands Family Business Awards is a charitable initiative set up in 2010 by The Wilson Organisation and aims to raise awareness of the contribution the family business sector makes both in the Midlands and nationally.

Alex Crofts, CEO of Crofts & Assinder, said: “We are delighted to have won the International Development award especially at a time when our international presence is stronger than ever. The award is testament to the hard work of our team and our commitment to growing our product offering to new markets overseas. We are excited for what the future holds for Crofts & Assinder.”
