SATRA’s Chemical and Analytical Technology (CAT) laboratory has doubled in size to meet the growing demand for permeation testing.

The independent research and testing organisation has refurbished part of the chemistry laboratory and invested in additional equipment to determine the permeation resistance of protective materials against harmful chemicals.

SATRA regularly assesses gloving materials, safety footwear and protective clothing to European test methods in order for these products to be CE-marked.

A wide range of challenge chemicals can be tested at SATRA’s facility including dichloromethane, commonly used in paint strippers.

This expansion will enable more testing to be carried out simultaneously, reducing the turnaround time for testing.
