The British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) is to host a second seminar in September to update its members on design law and intellectual property.

It will cover topics such as copyright and design protection and laws, as well as copyright in fabric and two-dimensional designs plus trademarks manufacturers should own together with trademarks for future designs. It will also review well-known case law.

BFM managing director, Jackie Bazeley, says: “Our first design law seminar in June was a huge success and in reviewing the feedback received, it seemed that a second date was essential to ensure maximum member attendance – especially as such events are key ways in which we can keep members in the loop with the ever-changing laws within the sector.”
