Following the recent Government restrictions and shutdowns because of the global pandemic, Lancashire-based woodworking machinery and equipment supplier, VWM, has reported a very healthy order book for its range of Technos CNC machining centres.

“Since February this year we have taken orders for over 19 machines,” says VWM sales director Jason Varey, “which is truly phenomenal when you consider the very difficult trading times we are in. Our range of machining centres has now grown to five models, which can be upgraded to suit customers’ individual requirements – although many people think this machine is new to the market.

“Our starting machine is our Technos Midi CNC, which is mainly aimed at educational facilities or the customer which wants very high accuracy in a small table machine. The machine starts from £11,950, is fully CE guarded in its own enclosure, uses precision ground helical racks like all the bigger models, and features European electrical components as standard throughout.

“From there we progress to our Technos 1325 Start machine, which is mainly aimed at new-start companies looking for a very accurate, medium-duty CNC to begin their journey in CNC machining,” explains Jason.

“This machine can be configured with bed sizes of 1300 x 2500 or 1600 x 3100mm, and has an eight-position toolchanger and 5.5kW spindle and airflow pump. Prices for this model start at £18,750 – again, built to the highest standards and using mainly European components.

“Our bestselling machine is the Technos ECO, which can be configured in many different options. We can have table sizes from 1325 to 1600 x 3100, and 2100 x 3100, and larger still. We have these types of machines in a variety of industries from furniture manufacturers to specialised plastics, composite and aerospace manufactured components.

“This machine boasts an attractive starting price of £23,600, going up from there dependent upon specification,” says Jason. “It can be configured with different head types and comes standard with 250m3 vacuum pump, which is ideal for nested components and different furniture components.

“Our top-of-the-range machine is our Technos HD series. This machine is a super-quick machine with rotary toolchanger carried with the spindle for quick toolchanging times. It can also be configured with multi-spindle heads and vacuum rails – as opposed to a flat matrix table – and comes with a very attractive starting price of £39,700. Bed sizes can also be configured to suit any requirement, and we have machines with 6m tables working in composite industries today!

“All our machines come as standard with Vectric Cut 2D Pro software, full installation and training. We also offer a very attractive two years’ full warranty (subject to terms). This can also be extended with our Premium Service Packages, tailored to suit every customer’s demands.”

Jason concludes: “At VWM, we always look to keep four machines in our showroom for live demonstrations – however, with recent events, it’s been hard to keep them in! But now things are settling down, we have stock available for demonstration, and visitors are always made welcome in our showroom.”
