The much anticipated Furniture & Joinery Conference – the first independent gathering of leading furniture and joinery manufacturers – takes place this October and now is the time for furniture and joinery manufacturers to secure their delegate tickets and to finalise their awards entries too!
With important issues to debate, our industry is faced with challenges and opportunities in equal measure. The conference, held on the 27th October at The Vox, Resorts World Birmingham (opposite the NEC’s front doors) will host lively debates from experts, operators and leaders in our industry.
Discussion points
Topics featured this year include how we are attracting young people into our industry, and also how open and inclusive we are being. The important issue of furniture and joinery manufactures working to become as sustainable as possible will be discussed in depth and also how we can tap into efficient and creative machinery, equipment, materials and components to deliver advantages for our customers and end-users.
Celebrate our industry
The conference has also launched a set of six awards which will pepper the event to allow delegates to celebrate the best in our sector, including a group of six young furniture and joinery designer-makers who will be recognised, rewarded and empowered to move forward with their careers. Other awards include Furniture Manufacturer of the Year, Joinery Manufacturer of the Year, Machinery Supplier of the Year, and Materials Supplier of the Year.

The Vox at Resorts World is a professional events venue with excellent facilities and is located adjacent to the NEC in Birmingham with free parking along with good road, rail and air connections.

Timetable
The Conference starts at 9.30am, with registration and refreshments from 8.30am. The day comprises four debating sessions of 45 minutes alongside six awards. There will be generous break times and a 90 minute lunch to provide ample time for re-fuelling and networking. The conference will conclude at 4pm and delegates are at liberty to continue discussions until The Vox closes at 6pm.
On a practical note, ample time has been built into the conference for delegates to network with peers, discuss ideas with sponsors and our charity partners, The Furniture Makers Company and Help For Heroes.
There is also an invitation-only reception taking place on the eve of the conference in The Apartment, situated on the floor below The Vox.
