Florian Barth becomes Technical Managing Director at Wemhöner

Middle of the year, Florian Barth took over responsibility for the technical division of the globally active special-purpose machinery manufacturer, Wemhöner Surface Technologies GmbH & Co. KG (Herford/Germany).

Together with authorised signatory Kathleen Wemhöner, the successful medium-sized company – which celebrated its 100th anniversary not long ago – will be led by a young and motivated dual leadership team starting next year.

After completing his secondary education, Florian Barth began studying mechanical engineering in Aachen (Germany), graduating successfully in 2012.

That same year, he joined Wemhöner. After several years in the design department, Barth moved into project planning, where he managed various large-scale and special projects. From 2020 onward, he supported the sales department with his technical expertise, advising technologically demanding customers. Later, he also assumed responsibility for the R&D division.

Based on this broad knowledge of the Wemhöner Group and his outstanding personal qualifications, Florian Barth was appointed Technical Managing Director earlier this year. In this role, he will continue to focus on his professional speciality: the strategically important advancement of modern surface technologies from Wemhöner for complete value chains.

The upcoming challenges for Florian Barth and the management team of the family-run manufacturer of high-quality finishing systems for wood-based panels and furniture surfaces are extensive. For example, economic uncertainty among some customers is increasingly accompanied by growing competitive and cost pressures. Wemhöner Surface Technologies benefits directly from its long-standing market and development experience, international presence, flat hierarchies, and fast, direct decision-making processes.

One of Barth’s most important tasks will be to strengthen the company’s unique position in the global market and to increase process efficiency – particularly to maintain value creation in Germany. He can count on the support of approximately 300 employees in Herford, as well as the independent sister company in Changzhou (Jiangsu Province, PR China) with its 200-member team.
