Furniture Makers organises fifth conference for HR professionals

The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, is organising its fifth annual HR conference, Routes to a Stronger Workforce 2025.

Sponsored by Blum UK, the event is taking place on Thursday 10 July 2025 (10:00am – 3:00pm) at Furniture Makers’ Hall, London, and is tailored for HR professionals working in the furniture and furnishing industry.

The conference will be chaired by Emma Welch, group HR director at Ocee International, and will feature expert-led sessions on topics such as debt management, mental health, and apprenticeship recruitment.

Amanda Chadwick of HR Inform will lead a keynote session on the evolving role of HR amid the rise of AI, while also clarifying recent changes to employment legislation. Rachel Harte of Money First Aid will share guidance on recognising financial distress among employees, initiating compassionate conversations about money, and connecting staff with appropriate support services.

“Routes to a Stronger Workforce has become a cornerstone event for HR professionals in our industry," says Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company. "It offers a platform to share best practices, gain insights from experts, and address the challenges in workforce development. We look forward to welcoming attendees to this year's conference.”

Tickets are priced at £30 for non-members and free for members of The Furniture Makers’ Company.
