The Jowat Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of industrial adhesives, has published its latest sustainability report covering the years 2023 and 2024.

The report details the progress achieved by the family-owned enterprise since 2020 in the areas environmental stewardship, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG) and outlines the company’s goals for the current year.

“Sustainability at Jowat is much more than a trend. It is a central pillar of our corporate strategy,” emphasises Dr. Christian Terfloth, a member of Board of Directors at Jowat SE. “The new report reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency. It offers our stakeholders and other interested parties a clear view into how we are contributing to a responsible and future-ready adhesives industry, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.”

Key topics in the report include:

  • Products for tomorrow: Jowat’s objective is to manufacture high-quality adhesives, which facilitate durable bonded end products. In light of climate change and the loss in biodiversity, the company is responsible for ensuring that its business activities are more sustainable. Jowat does this by developing adhesives with a high content of renewable raw materials or product solutions for wood-based construction.
  • More resource-conserving manufacturing: At Jowat, the responsible use of resources in production is part of day-to-day operations. Quality, environmental protection and energy efficiency have been laid down as corporate goals in the company’s guidelines. They provide clear orientation for all employees at Jowat and help to anchor responsible action within the corporate culture.
  • Responsible procurement practices and supply chains: Jowat takes responsibility for the ecological and social impacts of its operations – not only at its own facilities but throughout the supply chain. The enterprise is committed to responsible sourcing of goods and services, with the goal of having the majority of its suppliers formally agree to Jowat’s code of conduct by the end of 2025.
  • Healthy and satisfied employees: Each day, around 1,400 employees within the Jowat Group contribute to the enterprise’s success. Employee well-being is a key principle of Jowat and at the heart of its operations. The company cultivates a respectful and collaborative work culture, where the needs of employees are always in the focus. Together with its workforce, Jowat develops solutions to support long-term growth and create attractive employment opportunities.

The report follows the internationally recognised GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and underscores Jowat’s dedication to measurable and transparent sustainability. The full Sustainability Report 2023 and 2024 is available for download on the enterprise’s website at Sustainability – Jowat.
