National Timber Group has announced the appointment of Tony Miles as Non-Executive Director.
Tony’s journey in the timber industry began on November 5th, 1979, when he joined as a management trainee with a company that would later become part of Meyer International. Over the next four decades, he worked his way from the ground up — from kiln operator, to sales and product management, through to senior leadership.
In 2007, he became Managing Director of International Timber, part of Saint-Gobain, and a decade later, he was appointed CEO of Archwood Group, a privately owned family business.
“I have been fortunate to work across every part of the industry, meeting fantastic people and seeing businesses of all sizes grow," says Tony. "Becoming Managing Director of International Timber and CEO of Archwood are among my proudest moments – but equally rewarding has been watching colleagues develop their own careers and seeing customers flourish into strong business partners.

My role is to support Mark and the executive team, using the experiences I’ve gained to help the business prepare for future opportunities.
