Kronodesign introduces Alby Blue, one of the key new colours from Kronodesign. The company’s trend forecasters state that this is a shade that is going to be seen in all the right places for years to come …

A sophisticated variation on contemporary grey tones with a touch more individuality, Alby Blue is versatile, too, as a complementary colour which excels in bringing out the true nature of character woodgrains and the subtle varieties of stone finishes – and as a contrast colour it is a bold counterpoint that can effortlessly handle extremes of pattern or texture.

Alby Blue is one of a fresh palette of shades inspired by the New Nordic look – simplistic and functional, with a feel for nature and the colour-washed effects of the Scandinavian light. Within the palette, carefully chosen hues combine with natural and weathered woodgrains, or can be mixed and matched for a gentle muted look or a modern contrast with a hint of Scandi Noir.

Alby Blue is available with either a BS texture – a pleasing mottled appearance that creates a diffused sheen – or in the Grained Color (GC) finish, a realistic textural woodgrain surface that has the look and feel of painted wood.

Kronospan’s high-quality boards are manufactured in the UK and use only sustainably-managed or recycled timber. They are environmentally friendly and extend the lifecycle of wood.

Kronospan has also created an app to help users experiment with looks and moods. The company says it is an essential tool for planners, specifiers and interior designers, and allows them to select and try out ideas and options digitally. The app is customisable, and also gives access to Kronospan’s new image gallery and moodboards. Download it at
