As a brand that is innovative by tradition, Finsa is dedicated to designing and producing technical and decorative solutions derived from wood. For more than 90 years, Finsa has focused on continuous improvement and investment in materials development and production. In keeping with this philosophy, Finsa has introduced an improved version of its moisture-resistant MDF to its UK stock range – Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus.

Fibrapan Hidrofugo has become one of Finsa’s flagship products, as makers and joiners across the country have been enjoying a superior board that streamlines processing due to its unique properties.

Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus uses the same unique Steam Injection Process (SIPs) as Fibrapan Hidrofugo, which gives it the recognisable face finish and unrivalled core qualities “impossible to achieve” through standard MDF press technology.

During this process, specially selected wood fibres are bonded with moisture-resistant adhesives to produce a board with a smooth, flat and consistent surface, and a dense core with a strong internal bond that enables a high standard of machining. The properties of the board mean that they require less preparation time and less paint, ultimately creating a superior finish.

Through a unique recipe and an innovative production process, Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus has an increased density than standard Fibrapan Hidrofugo. This makes the board 25% stronger, and ideal for the most demanding machining requirements and applications. Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus also has a stronger internal bond, allowing for the least grain raise yet.

Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus maintains the enhanced machinability that we see with the popular Fibrapan Hidrofugo, with an even sharper edge, finer detail and a minimal need for sanding. Fibrapan Hidrofugo Plus reduces processing time even further than Fibrapan Hidrofugo. This not only significantly reduces the amount of paint needed but also ensures a more refined finish, saving both time and money.

This product is the latest addition to Finsa UK’s vast stock range, which includes a multitude of materials for specialist joineries. These include the 12Twenty melamine range, Fibrapan Bio MDF made with 100% bio-adhesives, or its striking hyper-textured TEX range.
