Established in 1963 in Hemel Hempstead, UK, ATA has evolved from a specialist in aerospace tooling into a comprehensive provider for the CNC sector. The company covers industries from woodworking and plastics to high-performance automotive manufacturing.
With independent owners, Mark Whitbread and Graham Warren, ATA has the freedom to offer a diverse range of products, assisted by the energetic sales team of Adam English and Sharon Green.
ATA Engineering’s CNC offer includes an extensive range of router cutters. These are not merely tools, but engineered solutions designed to withstand the high-speed demands of modern spindles. Its inventory includes solid carbide, high-speed steel (HSS), and polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tipped cutters.
Complementing its cutting tools is a selection of collets and tool holders. Understanding that a cutter is only as effective as the grip that holds it, ATA provides high-precision collet systems, such as the ER series (ER16, ER25, ER32), which are industry standards for securing bits in CNC spindles.
ATA is also the exclusive agent for Boelube, a range of space-age lubricants developed by Boeing.
These lubricants are critical in the CNC sector for reducing heat and friction during the machining of titanium and other exotic metals, thereby protecting both the workpiece and the expensive tooling.
“ATA Engineering is more than a simple hardware supplier; we are a technical partner to the CNC industry,” explains Mark Whitbread. “By providing high-quality router cutters, precision collets, and advanced aerospace-grade lubricants, we equip manufacturers with the tools necessary to push the boundaries of modern engineering.
"Our longstanding commitment to innovation and technical support continues to make us a vital link in the global manufacturing supply chain.”
