Materials-handling specialist Combilift is thrilled to return to Ligna, where it will showcase its innovative range of safe, efficient, and space-saving materials-handling equipment, designed for the unique challenges faced by the woodworking and timber industry.
The Irish manufacturer provides a wide range of products, featuring multidirectional forklifts like the C-Series and Combi-CB, the articulated Aisle Master, pedestrian stackers, powered pallet trucks, Straddle Carriers, and the Combi-CSS, specifically designed for the safe loading and unloading of containers. Approximately 15 exhibits will showcase that Combilift has a solution tailored for every handling and storage challenge encountered by businesses in the timber, joinery, and furniture industries.
With a focus on greener technologies, 98% of Combilift’s R&D investment is directed toward energy-efficient and electric equipment, which now constitutes over 70% of its production. Visitors to Combilift’s stand at Ligna will have the opportunity to experience its electric range firsthand.
Combilift’s CEO and Co-Founder Martin McVicar explains: “Sustainability is at our core – we’re highly focused on making our vehicles more environmentally friendly and helping our customers maximise their warehouse efficiency,”
Ligna 2023 also marked the company’s 25th anniversary and featured the launch of the multidirectional Combi-CB70E, highlighting Combilift’s commitment to the timber industry. The electric Combi-CB70E, which will also be showcased this year, is the most compact 7t lifting capacity counterbalance model available. Its small footprint and lateral movement allow for easy navigation through confined spaces and narrow aisles, making it ideal for transporting long and bulky timber loads. Designed for driver comfort, it received the prestigious ‘Ergonomic Innovation of the Year’ award at the latest UK Materials Handling Association Awards.
Additionally, the Combi-CSS Container Slip-Sheet, which will also be showcased, is designed to load and unload containers quickly and safely. It efficiently handles rough-sawn timber, flat-packed goods, and panel products, with a maximum capacity of 30t. Remarkably, it can complete a full loading cycle for a 40-foot container in under six minutes with just one operator.
Other exhibits will include multi-directional forklifts from the C-Series and CB ranges, sideloaders, and a full range of electric pedestrian units, such as the Combi-WR4 and the Combi-SC Straddle Carrier, designed to handle oversized loads such as modular buildings as well as containers.
