Whether picture frames, furniture fronts or precisely fitting mouldings in interior fit-out: when it comes to mitre joints, an exact angle, the correct workpiece length and clean-cut edges determine the result. With the MitreX double mitre fence, MARTIN offers a practical addition to the sliding table saw. It combines precise adjustment options with straightforward handling and supports joiners and carpenters with demanding cutting tasks.
A key feature is the ability to cut mitres from both sides. The reversible stops make it easier to work on matching workpieces. The large angle scale allows for clear adjustment; on the analogue version, the angle can be read in 0.1° increments using a magnifying glass. Alternatively, MitreX is available with a digital angle display.
For dimensionally accurate mitre joints, the exact cut length is just as crucial as the correct angle. That is why MitreX features double-sided length compensation for ten preset angles between 0° and 67.5°. This allows the difference in length resulting from adjusting the angle to be specifically accounted for. The stop covers cut lengths from 90 to 1,375 mm and is suitable for a wide range of tasks in furniture making and interior fit-out.
The ConnectApp offers additional support: if the MARTIN sliding table saw is fitted with ConnectControl, workpieces of different widths can also be joined with a precise mitre joint. The user enters the desired joint angle and the widths of the two workpieces into the app. The app then calculates the required adjustment angles for the MitreX. This makes it easy to prepare and precisely execute so-called ‘false mitres’ with different cutting angles.
Another detail highlights the focus on practical workshop use: the integrated splinter guard helps ensure tear-free cut edges and makes it easier to work along a marked line. A clean-cut edge is crucial for the quality of the resulting joint, particularly with visible mitre joints.
The anodised aluminium construction combines low weight with high stability. The compact design allows a clear view of the work area. Thanks to a one-handed clamping mechanism, the MitreX can be secured to the trimming table in just a few simple steps.
MitreX is also an attractive option for retrofitting: it can be used on MARTIN sliding table saws manufactured from 2001 onwards, as well as on the T73 model. MARTIN will check suitability for older machines or third-party models on request.
