From decorative surfaces and metallic edgings to adjustable desk frames and adhesive handling, Ostermann has plenty to interest furniture makers and joiners.
Metallic finishing touches
Ostermann’s ABS edging range includes metallic finishes designed to add detail to bespoke furniture. Options range from the warm, patterned Cobra bronze and brushed brass effects to subtle pearlescent colours such as Mocha Mousse and Old Venice. Cross Steel, Titan One anthracite and Mesh silver introduce textured, metallic looks. Edgings are available from one metre in length and widths up to 100mm.
New dimensions in decorative surfaces
The latest additions to Ostermann’s Sibu design board range include Facet and Pillar, two three-dimensional designs with metallic effects. Facet features an irregular honeycomb pattern, while Pillar combines vertical curved grooves with reflective surfaces. For softer interiors, Lotus Velvet introduces a large-scale leaf design, while Rombo 40 Velvet features a stitched 40 x 40mm diamond pattern.
Height adjustment without the plug
Ostermann has introduced two gas-spring-operated table frames for locations without electrical power. One provides stepless height adjustment between 655mm and 1120mm, while a folding version with castors suits mobile applications. Meanwhile, the electric REDOCOL e-Desk II Pro Corner features three synchronised motors, adjustable frame angles from 60° to 180°, and supports conference tables up to four metres long.
Keeping adhesives performing
Temperature affects adhesive storage and performance, Ostermann advises. Cold conditions can damage water-based and other temperature-sensitive adhesives, while draughts can cool EVA hotmelt too quickly during edgebanding. Higher temperatures can accelerate PUR reactions, reducing working time. Spray adhesives should also be protected from temperature extremes.
Together, these developments underline Ostermann’s offering across decorative finishes, furniture components and workshop consumables, giving furniture makers more design choices alongside practical support for production.
