HOMAG has unveiled its latest innovation: the EDGETEQ P-200, a compact but powerful digital edge printing machine that enables manufacturers to print directly onto neutral edge bands without the need for costly stockholding or complex pre-treatment.
Engineered to open new design possibilities for furniture, interior fit-out, shopfitting and exhibition stand construction, the EDGETEQ P-200 combines brilliant four-colour printing, high-speed production, and user-friendly operation in one sleek solution.
Printing possibilities
The EDGETEQ P-200 adds a whole new creative dimension to the edge banding process. From vibrant decors and photorealistic textures (for example, simulating oak grain) to bespoke logos, slogans and surface effects, the design possibilities are truly endless. With the ability to quickly and effortlessly customise their workpieces, joiners can meet highly specific customer requirements like never before.
A seamless process
Printing with the EDGETEQ P-200 couldn’t be simpler. To get started, the machine integrates seamlessly with HOMAG’s woodCommander interface; users can choose from existing templates, upload their own designs, or access third-party libraries. Colour management and RIP (Raster Image Processing) are handled directly within the machine's interface for fast, reliable setup.
Once a design is selected and a workpiece is loaded, the P-200 cleans the edge band (including the radius), then feeds the material past stationary print heads which apply the chosen design using UV-curable ink. A fifth colour channel applies a protective varnish, ensuring a durable, professional finish – all cured instantly with UV LED drying technology.
Designed for efficiency and flexibility
At less than four metres long and under 1.5 metres wide, the EDGETEQ P-200 is nicely compact, making it ideal for workshops of any size. It prints at speeds up to 13 m/min with a crisp 360 dpi resolution, supporting workpieces between 120 mm and 2,500 mm in length, and edge thicknesses up to 3 mm.
Its robust construction includes a precise feed system, chemical-mechanical cleaning for optimal print quality, and a continuous automatic ink supply for uninterrupted production. Optional add-ons, like the ergonomic air cushion table, make it even easier to handle larger panels.
