As in previous years, the Ostermann trend scouts have once again been visiting the German trade fair for kitchens – Küchenmeile A30 – in search of new style elements, colours and materials. As a partner to the trades, the experts in edgings can as of now provide furniture designers, manufacturers, carpenters and cabinetmakers with the right solutions for their new projects.

According to the Ostermann experts, last year’s trends are mainly still up to date. Once again, super matt surfaces in dark colours, vivid wood décors and natural stone look surfaces could be spotted this year. Open shelves, usually made of dark metal and often equipped with wooden divider panels and lighting features, still play an important role in kitchen design.

New items were brass decor elements and self-supporting side panels as well as delicate aluminium glass frames with designer glass. Ostermann provides the trades with matching solutions for an easy and quick implementation of these new trends in the workshop.

Edgings

Same as last year, dark, supermatt colours like black, grey or dark earth tones dominated the furniture trends. For an implementation of these colour trends, manufacturers can freely choose from Ostermann’s extensive edging range.

The assortment of supermatt plain edgings alone contains more than 400 edgings, many of them in the mentioned dark shades. There were new surfaces with striking Terrazzo decors in worktops and wall systems. At Ostermann, you will find the matching edgings to these, as well.

Open shelving systems

The trend of flexible shelving systems that merge with the design of a room continues. With Smartcube and Smartframe, Ostermann provides a perfect base to implement this trend with the creativity the trade is known for.

Back again: free-standing side panels

A design element that hasn’t been seen in kitchen construction for a long time – self-supporting side panels. With the panel profiles, Ostermann has in its range a great product to protect the delicate surfaces of side panels at the bottom and highlight them at the same time. The profiles are available for board thicknesses of 19, 25 and 40mm.
