A new report by Wren Kitchens has analysed Google search data to reveal how 2020 influenced our design preferences. Key notables in the report include a 75% rise in Google searches for “kitchen island ideas” over the last year. American Fridge Freezers have become more desirable, with 70% more searches when compared year on year. ‘Smart kitchens’ had almost 50% more Google searches at the end of 2020 compared to 2019.

With the majority of last year spent in lockdown, households up and down the UK were forced to set up shop/offices from their kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and home offices.

With such a large percentage of our time spent indoors, it may come as no surprise that people changed what they want and require from their homes.

A new report by Wren Kitchens has analysed Google search data to reveal the features and technology that people are now looking for when upgrading their kitchen.

With so many of us taking up home baking and cooking during lockdown, it would appear that people have deiscovered they need extra space to store all their ingredients.

Kitchens pantry ideas has seen the largest increase in demand with Google search volumes increasing a staggering 147% and this is followed closely by kitchen pantry shelves seeing a 124% increase and kitchen island ideas increasing by 76%.
