It is a legal requirement, as stated in the CoSHH Regulations 2005, that the quality of compressed air supplied to a breathing apparatus should be tested to BS EN/12021, at least every three months.
Regulations place the responsibility in employers’ hands, calling on them to provide personal protection equipment, and to ensure that it is being properly maintained and is in good working order.
